Went to SD Zoo a few weeks back with Michelle. I haven’t been since 6th grade and funny enough, that was the field trip that opted me to buy my first film camera. I gotta find those pics!
Here are a few snaps, the weather could not have been more awesome. Such a nice weekend in SD!

I don’t know what a dark room looks like because I’ve never been in one. And I can’t say that I have used too many film cameras besides the few spontaneous times that I’ve spent my change on those disposable things you buy at the gas station. But this year along with my photo buddies, we are making an effort to explore the rich qualities of using that shiny, plastic, costly strips of film to create better photos.
I can finally feel some sort of familiarity when shooting with a film camera, whereas before it felt like a distant tool. However, I still cannot keep an accurate track of what I load into the magazine because I still use my digital more often and I don’t take notes very well.
Hence I just picked up what I thought was a roll of color film from the lab, and to my surprise it was monotone. Ahh but there are some interesting things that came out, I pushed the b/w further in photoshop and in some cases made it look like true b/w. They were shot with the Lubitel.
Oh yeah that last one… couldn’t resist the digital urge!
cheers,
TT
