guest blog: love, luxuries, and semiotics

Camera: Olympus XA, Kodak 400tx

To be honest, I haven’t been taking very many pictures lately. All of these were from a recently rediscovered roll I found idling away somewhere underneath my bed.

Save for the Serendipity shot (insanely overrated in case anyone wants to go there) and the Supreme box logo (near my pad in SoHo), all of these were taken on a leisurely stroll down New York’s prestigious 5th Ave.  You got God and luxury goods compartmentalized into neat little letters and symbols all within walking distance of one another. Kind of cool to think about.

And on a side note, I don’t want to single handedly take credit for inspiring the brilliant Tikko Studios dudes for trying their hands in film, but if needed, I will. Everything looks awesome.

Cheers everyone!

Ok, these are some photos taken while traveling in between actual work sessions, with not much mental thought involved… yet I love the results!

Gotta trust those instincts more!! I think shooting with pure intuition gets the best results, no need for any rules.

I’ve been trying to take a good jewelry photo, and it’s the most challenging thing ever! The main problem being the large depth of field needed to get it in focus. I think I over sharpened here too, but if you have any tips, I’d like to hear them!
