Best of 2009 blog posted!! Happy New Years everyone! To a successful and prosperous 2010!
Cant believe its that time again! What the heck happened?!! Well for starters, it was a year of change..as we moved into a physical space and refined our infrastructure, we pushed the boundaries within ourselves and produced some the best images to date. Last year’s ‘Best of‘ was a nice glimpse of the years portfolio work. This time around, a more subtle, mature and fresh approach to projects gave us a new outlook to the future of our business and the photography industry as a whole.
Tikko had a very successful run in 2009 and we look forward to some great new projects come 2010!! We wanted to say thank you for checking the blog and continuing to give us support in making the dream come alive!
These images are taken from various blogs and posts throughout the year. Enjoy!!

Ok not really haha. I am not much of a vegas person but we went last weekend for Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds! Its super rare to have them together so Michelle and I trekked out to the high desert . Had a small point and shoot, pretty decent for quick snaps.. just had to adjust to the sensor, or lack thereof haha.
Representing at the M (highly recommend you stay there!)

I read an interview about Frank Ockenfels on A Photo Editor blog and immediately wanted to go see his exhibit at Clark Oshin gallery
His journal is full of ideas and crazy photos he gets while experimenting with lenses and old cameras. I then picked up an old lens from a vintage store and tried to create something weird.
Below is the outcome of a 50mm lens that doesn’t mount on my 5d and a photoshopped copy layer.. who knows how Frank did it? (I heard he uses tilt shift on a large format) You can see that my digital attempt still has a long way to go to get to that film quality.
This one is a little more original.
Here is a random man that I shot across the street from the gallery, where there was a similar looking man on the window.
We also ate at pink’s hot dogs before the gally.
Then I saw something glowing in the sky… maybe the festival of lights?
Mysterious..

Somewhere between Nevada, Arizona and Utah…
The plan was to get to some clean sand dunes by the time the sun went down. However, nothing so spontaneous is ever perfect… and we ended up getting to our destination with the guide of the moonlight.
we found ourselves wandering the desert, listening to the howling of coyotes and trying not to freeze. Photos below were a collaboration with Luis Ramos.
I think these will look nice printed.
Go get some outdoors!
