This Saturday I had a spontaneous urge to go up a mountain, and with my buddy Vas willing to take on the challenge, we went to the picturesque Malibu hills. The hike was easy enough, we didn’t really have the appropriate boots, but we were determined to get to the other side of the trail in order to see the ocean. Without having any idea of how long the trail was, we kept climbing through the creeping night…

The view was spectacular from the top! And a nice warm breeze on the way down. Now I definitely feel like climbing more trails, hopefully before the weather does a 180 again!!

Today I was retouching a few headshots, and during a super skin softening technique I noticed a familiar image pop out from the photo. Check it out and see if it reminds you of a famous painting??

FJ Rio is an established TV-actor that has starred in multiple hit shows ranging from Seinfield and Star-Trek to The Shield and 24. Due mainly to his on screen talent, he has not needed a new headshot for over 5 years! I recently met FJ in Los Angeles to discuss his future acting goals, had fantastic sushi, and ended up learning a good deal of interesting things about acting and his career.
Previous to acting, FJ had been a high achieving law student in route to become a defense lawyer, and had it not been for his strong passion for the arts he would not have ventured to New York to learn acting from NYU. FJ carries a strong demeanor, and uses his intriguing persona to create characters of power and authority. Having done his share of theater, which requires strong improvisation, FJ made our photo shoot go with ease:

If you wish to see more of FJ, make sure to check out his IMDB to catch some of his roles on current shows.

Was in SF this past weekend for Outside Lands Music Fest, good times with the FG! Had the best seat in the house for DMB as well, pretty much 12 rows from the front! It was pretty amazing the more I think about it. The entire event was was something else, definitely one of the best festivals I’ve seen. Saw some bands I’ve never heard of till now, Built to Spill, Autolux, Ankron Family, Atmosphere, The Dead Weather to name a few. Pandora that piece!
