Last week I rented the best Canon wide zoom lens (16-35mm f/2.8 II) that I was planning to use for a photo-shoot …but the shoot got rescheduled. So instead, I took pics of anything and everything on my way home:
Visited Khai to leave a DVD, and realized that their studio appartment could be an awesome photo studio.

Then I took a look outside the window and noticed some shady things:

So I left, and went through hollywood:

Here I made the LA river look like batman’s hideout… the color treatment may not be for everybody, but I sure like it:

I also visited the LA ghettos:

Got home and did the routine garage, park, elevator:

Stillness at home:

And here is a fun project for a book that my friend Julian is editing, I will post the final cover version once its published!

Cheers,
TT

A few weeks back, Tigran and I set out to shoot Orisue’ Fall lifestyle campaign. Despite having call time at 2am, everything worked out very well! Thanks again to all who came through to collaborate and stick it through with us! Big ups to Jeff and Matt for holding down the venue and concept.

Went to the LACMA and Annenberg Space for Photography this past weekend. Always an informative and inspiring time. You can actually check out the Annenberg space now until November 1st for free! Its pretty awesome and I would highly recommend it. I took my new FG for a lil test drive as well. Works like a charm! Really nice metering and the EV settings were spot on. Teamed up with some Fuji Pro, it definitely handled with ease.
Shot an entire roll, here are few quick picks!

We were lucky enough to get invited backstage to Powerhouse’09 where our friend Khai was in charge of documenting Far East Movement’s performance at this year’s concert. The powerful Canon 5d delivers incredible video, which we abused during FM’s performance, and got some gnarly footage. However, as the video is still in post production, here are some photos from the concert:

Watching the musicians from just a foot away was a great experience, but I think Jay Z blew everyone away with his hyped performance.

It was very exciting to photograph a talented actress that has the looks of a top model! Alice was a total joy to work with and she easily blended into any environment that I gave her. With her spontaneous personality, we managed to come up with lots of interesting shots, and almost got in trouble with a jealous park official…jk! Also, a big thanks to Paul Castro for his incredible make-up and hair styling!
Our challenges included capturing a next-door-girl type of look, a more leading-edgy role, then transitioning into a mature motherly look. We also had to tackle some more commercial and corporate looks, many of these quickly became favorite images of mine. Take a look for yourself here:

That includes most of the imagery from our shoot. For more about Alice and to hear her voice over skills, you can visit her website.
