If you recall back to this past Christmas Eve, 9 members of the Ortega family were brutally murdered in a shooting in Covina. Such a tragic story, so I was honored to have donated my time to photograph this benefit for the sponsors and members of the family. It was a very nice afternoon in Santa Monica, with celebrities all around and a performance by Sugar Ray, it was a very positive and inspiring event. Thanks again to Mary for having me!

Last month our friend Iris approached us to guest speak at an Entrepreneur Society meeting at UCI! I was pretty nervous all day, I honestly didn’t think people would be interested in knowing how we got started, how to build a brand and ultimately how to be successful through photography. We work on those things everyday so it was a little strange talking about the struggles hah, although I felt pretty good with the presentation overall. There was a nice discussion throughout, especially during Q&A some topics were brought up we typically don’t think about too often. It was a great refresher for us as well and to be involved in something like this has encouraged us to solidify our approach to marketing and branding Tikko even more!
Walking to the classroom, we saw some fliers they had posted on the bridge. haha, such a surprise!

Group shot, rip em eaters!

Such an honor! We were definitely inspired by the group and the purpose of the organization. Thanks again Iris for having us!

Workshop II was a great success! Thanks again to Erich Chen for helping us hold it down Wednesday night. I guess Facebook doesn’t mess around when it says 30 people confirmed hah. But really though, it was a wonderful turnout. Had a good mix between weekend hobbyist, photojournalists, commercial and wedding photographers. Felt good to share in on some experiences with novices and veterans a like. Also a special thanks to my dad and his photo friends who came out!
Anyways we didn’t get a chance to shoot too much but here are a few images from the night.

A former Miss Mexico and winner of Miss International in ’07, Priscila Perales came to us with a long list of looks that she needed to kick start her acting career in the City of Angels.

Besides having an intense radiating beauty, which got her into the top ten of Miss Universe, she was a total joy to work with. After a long studio session, we went scouting for interesting environments outdoors, and spent a good amount of time shooting and hanging out. With her determination and charm I see her becoming very successful and I can only wait to see her star in the next big thing.

This would be a good time to take another breath.

Seriously though, Priscila looked so good when we went to Rodeo Dr. that people would literally just stop and stare. A group of tourists decided that they could not leave without a photo, or two.. ok make that 5, of their own.

I thought that was awesome. Anyway, sorry for the break, here is more

Unfortunately that’s all for this Roll. Best of luck to Priscila!
Cheers,
Tigran
